In this image you can see ExxonMobil’s Singapore Chemical plant. The central berths show individual oil tankers and nearby pipelines leading to the large above ground oil storage tanks on the island. SAR images of oil storage tanks contain information on the facility’s inventory levels based on the height of the floating roofs. The brightest areas in the image are the chemical plant units where metallic piping and unit operations strongly reflect the radar signal.
